Downtown Farmers Market Artistic Services Policies

This category is reserved for Face Painters, Cartoonists, Caricature Artists and Balloon Twisters. Preapproval is required for any other discipline/talent.

  1.  The Downtown Alliance reserves the right to refuse participation to any who do not comply with market rules, regulations or meet market standards which include but are not limited to adhering to all local, city, state, and federal laws.
  2. All Artistic Services vendors must check in at the Downtown Alliance booth each week to secure their designated location and pay the applicable fee. Limited space is available. All locations are first come first served on a weekly basis.
  3. Should the Downtown Alliance receive a complaint from other vendors or customers, the Market Staff may revoke vending privileges indefinitely.
  4. Artistic Services vendors may not erect any tent, easy-up, or structure of any kind. Market Management has attempted to designate specific areas that limit sun exposure.
  5. All vendors must obtain permission from Market Management to move locations. Artistic Services vendors may post prices for their services. It is the responsibility of all Market Vendors to report all income to the state tax commission.
  6. Market Staff has the authority to move and reassign any vendor to enhance or facilitate market operations.
  7. Artistic Services vendors are responsible for cleaning their space before leaving. Offenses will be documented and offenders will be prohibited from vending at the Market during the 2024 season.
  8. Electricity is not provided. Amplification of any kind is not tolerated.
  9. Artistic Services vendors may take only the space essential to the activity and may not block the market aisles with chairs, tables, or non-essential materials.
  10. Any vendors not complying with the market rules may be asked to leave, especially if the services interfere with market operations or any vendor's ability to do business.
  11. The Downtown Alliance is not liable for any injury, theft, or damage to either the vender or their property arising from, or pertaining to, preparation for or participation in, the Downtown Farmers Market; whether such injury, theft, or damage occurred prior, during, or after the Downtown Farmers Market. The vender further agrees to indemnify and hold The Downtown Alliance harmless for and against any claims for such injury, theft, or damage.
  12. Artistic Services vendors are not allowed to bring any vehicles into the park. No exceptions. Parking facilities are available in surrounding parking structures and on the street. Check with the Market Staff for information about available parking facilities or visit our website: www.slcfarmersmarket.org.
  13. Market will go on rain, shine, or snow. Hours are 8am to 2pm.
  14. Knives, swords, torches, flames, axes, saws or other objects that can cause bodily injury to any person are prohibited.
